About Center Point and your carry permit
Center Point is a Jefferson County city northeast of Birmingham, between Tarrant and Pinson. Residents get carry permits from the Jefferson County Sheriff, who takes applications online.
Alabama hasn't required a permit to carry a pistol since January 1, 2023, but a permit still helps if you travel, since some states that honor Alabama permits don't allow permitless carry. Permits come from the sheriff of the county you live in:
